Veterinary Assistants

Sheree

Sheree Workman is one of our veterinary assistants that began working here in 2006. She has been in the animal business since 1985 working in an Animal Shelter in Salt Lake City, Utah, and five years at a veterinary clinic in Henderson, Nevada. She is a mother of five and a grandmother of twelve. Sheree has a wonderful husband and dog, Sierra and many fish.

Brittany

Brittany McGruder has been with us since 2005, starting out as one of our R.O.P. students and is currently working on obtaining her registered veterinary technician license. Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and son, Ayden.

Jenny

Jenny O. has been working here since 2006. She completed R.O.P. of Animal and Veterinary careers and is currently attending Sierra College. She has so far received her Associates Arts degree and is continuing on her educational to become a veterinarian and specialize in animal behavior. She has three pets: one dog, Sasha, a Border-Collie mix and two cats, Prince- a gray and black short-hair, and L.B. - an orange striped tabby. When Jenny isn't studying, she enjoys playing soccer, being outdoors, reading a good book. She has recently completed a dog training and behavioral course with Dr. Ian Dunbar and has organized a local Sacramento area dog trainers group.

Diana

Diana Comer started working at Sunset Whitney Veterinary Hospital in 10/08. She has worked at two local vets in the past. She has two children, one Malti-Poo, "Bailey", one basset hound, "Charger" and a black lab, “Forest”. She enjoys the beach, being with her family and friends, and watching the San Diego Chargers!!

Cameron

Cameron is the newest member of our staff. He is a strong, gentle young man with a calming influence on all the animals. After doing his Senior Project from Del Oro on veterinary medicine, he started classes at Sierra College as well as getting first-hand experience at Sunset Whitney Veterinary Hospital. He has a cat, fish, and a Red tail Boa Constrictor.

Hospital Manager

Angie

Angie Sala’s family has been clients here from the beginning (1981) and we have watched her grow up. You could say we groomed her for her job. In actuality it is her natural talent and sense of humor that make her so valuable. She has been with us since 1996. She is Chief Hospital & Office manager. Angie has a salt water aquarium, a cat named “Gus”, whom she has raised from 2 days old, and a black lab named “Cooper”. Angie loves to go to the ocean, take hikes, go camping, and spend time with her family and fiancé, Paul. Angie is working intently to obtain her Registered Veterinary Technician license.

Our Friends

“Rusty”

Rusty
Our large yellow and white cat was adopted from the Sacramento SPCA in 1999 for Dr. Taylor’s father in law. When he could no longer take care of him, we brought him to the hospital to live. Although he was previously declawed, he is the most agile cat at climbing, opening full size doors and hiding in closets. He loves to lounge on the front counter and greet clients.

“Sal”

Sal
Our large, long haired brown tabby cat was once called “Sally” when Animal Control brought him in as a stray with a broken leg. After we fixed his leg and adjusted his name we kept him because Rusty was his best friend.

“Chilly"

Chilly
Chilly is our cockatiel that was left on the door step with skin problems. He is very lively as you can hear when you visit us.
